Mister B's

Did not live up to the hype for us Final Overall Score: 3.6  Restaurant: 4.0  Typical divey Buffalo bar. It’s got that wooden bar going for it, but it's a tad tired inside and is a bit of a long distance from downtown Buffalo. Taste: 4.0  Very okay wings - a lack of sauce with inherently inconsistent wings made for a sub par wing experience. Too boot, there was no celery included. Sauce: 3.5  Not enough sauce!!! Spicyness level and flavor were quite good, but the lack of quantity coupled with almost no creaminess really detracted from the taste. Crispiness: 3.5 All crispy, but not consistent types of crispy. About half the wings were dry-crispy, and the other half were greasy-crispy. Not ideal. Size & Quality: 3.0 Almost all the wings very small except for one gigantic momma wing. Judi's Lounge Bar & Grill

Judi makes some saucy, sassy wings  Final Overall Score: 4.1  Restaurant: 4.0  More of a diner feel than a classic Buffalo atmosphere. Some parts are updated, some are not. Taste: 4.5  Beautiful and unique presentation in a tipped bowl with celery on a second bottom tray. Wish they were crispier and the sweetness is a drawback. Beautiful presentation- there was indeed celery underneath the bowl, even though it cannot be seen in the photo Sauce: 4.0  Finally a great quantity!! But there a strange note of sweetness that throws the sauce off its classic Buffalo game. Great heat, still very tasty, very creamy. Crispiness: 3.5  Cooked well but not approaching perfect crispy. Not soggy, but not 100% satisfying. Size & Quality: 4.5  7 flats and 3 drums. Not a disaster, but not perfection. The wings were all beautiful and nice size. Duff's Famous Wings (Original - Sheridan Dr)

Unbeatable uniformity in flavor and sauciness!  Final Overall Score: 4.9  Restaurant: 5.0  The Duff's original location reeks of Buffalo... in the best way possible! Duff's on Sheridan Dr has that slightly divey yet cozy feel - wood clad bar and all. A great atmosphere in which to experience some of the very best wings that Buffalo has to offer. Taste: 5.0  Impeccable. Just impeccable. Crispy, saucy, juicy, and spicy with thick bleu cheese and crunchy celery sticks. The overall taste could not be more perfected. Sauce: 5.0  A perfect medium Buffalo sauce - perhaps a smidge on the hot side, but oh so good. Part of the reason Duff's sauce is seen as a bit hotter than others is due to the large quantity of sauce they use. The more sauce, the hotter the wings seem. We believe there is no such thing as "too much sauce" on such a great wing, especially when the sauce is so delicious and well balanced. Crispiness: 5.0  Again, perfection. Cri

Sportsmen's Tavern

An atmosphere as great as the wings Final Overall Score: 4.8  Restaurant: 5.0  Unbelievably fun and thematic ambiance - guitar theme, live jazz music with lunch. Friendly staff. Going into this, we actually had no idea that they had live music during lunch, but this was an incredible surprise. The establishment is clean, welcoming, and comfortable. There is even an upstairs bar from which you can view the stage. Taste: 5.0  The ultimate smack factor! Yummmm. Smelled great, the sauce was delicious, and the cooking was perfection. There were some minor areas that lost some points. Sauce: 4.5  The quantity of sauce was one of the minor problems. The wings were not loaded with sauce, despite the sauce being delectable and delicious. More sauce, please! Crispiness: 5.0  Absolute perfection, the jazz music sounded like an angel choir as we bit into these babies. Crispy skin, moist meat. No gumminess whatsoever. What a delight. Size & Quality: 4.5  Anoth

Buffalo Wild Wings

Shockingly better than many local joints Final Overall Score: 3.5  Note:  This isn't a "local" spot, but we absolutely had to investigate. It's literally got the words Buffalo Wings in the name. We could not resist. Restaurant: 4.0  Buffalo Wild Wings had a clean and fun sports bar atmosphere. Drawbacks were that sterile chain feeling. Menus were a bit confusing and we had to order 9 wings instead of 10. They didn't have traditional “double” and “single” orders, which is generally an important aspect of good ol' Buffalo wings! Taste: 3.5  Solid bleu cheese, an overall tasty yet imperfect wing. Not a bad choice for you and your buddies for a Sunday football game. The sad part is that these wings were a better baseline Buffalo wing than most other local restaurants we visited!!  Sauce: 4.0  Two issues - not enough sauce and no creaminess. Heat level and flavor both good. Crispiness: 4.0  Definite gumminess but not critical levels

Anchor Bar (Maple Rd)

A completely different experience than its flagship counterpart  Final Overall Score: 4.5  Restaurant: 4.5  Large, yet strangely empty restaurant. It has a chain feeling but is bright, clean, thematic, and welcoming. The service was great, and they have a good menu in addition to some great classic Buffalo wings. Taste: 4.5  An overall solid contender. There definitely seemed to be some thought put into these wings to produce such a delicious Buffalo wing experience. These wings were only missing one aspect each in the sauce and sizing. Sauce: 4.5  A delicious sauce, but missing some of the creaminess element. Still incredibly delicious without the full creaminess we expected, but we did have to dock some points here. Crispiness: 5.0  Well cooked and delicious. Delightfully crisp skin that was well coated in that telltale orange sauce, and the interior meat was perfect. Size & Quality: 4.0  Some of the flats were well on the small side, whic
